Primary Responsibilities
HDR is a top-ten U.S. engineering and architecture firm with a growing international practice. HDR is currently looking for an Economist / Economic Analyst for our Metro-accessible office in Navy Yard (Washington, DC). Entry-level economists are expected to contribute to formulating economic analyses by conducting primary and secondary research. The analyses typically address the value proposition of infrastructure projects in the transportation, water, energy, and Defense industries – some of which include the largest public works in the DC Metro area and around the country. Candidates with sound knowledge and skills in economic concepts, spreadsheet modeling, and written and verbal communication excel in this position and have strong prospects for growth. Due to contractual obligations U.S. citizenship and ability to clear U.S. government background checks preferred though not required. *LI-KY1

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Masters in Economics strongly preferred; minimum of Bachelor in Economics or related field required. 1+ year of work experience with an emphasis on the application and interpretation of research in public infrastructure or related topics is preferred. Experience in developing economic or business models using analytical methods is strongly preferred. Knowledge of economic methods required; knowledge of econometric methods a plus. Experience with analytical packages and/or programming languages (SAS, Eviews, SPSS, VBA, etc.) and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access is required. Position requires an individual with the ability to interact with clients.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred in Economics or related field
