Oil & Gas UK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry with offices in London and Aberdeen. It is a not-for-profit organisation, established in April 2007 but with a pedigree stretching back over 40 years. Its vision is to ensure that the UK Continental Shelf becomes the most attractive mature oil and gas province in the world with which to do business; its mission is to promote and serve our members’ interests and be the voice of the UK’s oil and gas industry.

We are seeking a talented financial/tax practitioner / economist preferably with experience of the oil & gas industry or energy sector. They will be responsible for promoting the development and implementation of fiscal policies which support the vision, mission and strategic objectives of Oil and Gas UK and managing the relationship with HM Treasury as well as HM Revenue and Customs and other key stakeholders. Critical to this role will be the need to work closely with colleagues across the Upstream policy Team to secure and preserve a globally competitive fiscal regime to attract investment across the E&P lifecycle and in support of the UK’s oil and gas industry as a whole.
The successful candidate will assist the organisation to nurture the UK’s oil and gas supply chain, promote the reputation of Oil & Gas UK and raise the profile of our industry. They must be able to demonstrate that they can credibly engage regulators, manage industry forums and networks, address a wide variety of industry issues and provide linkage with other industry bodies and specialist institutions. We would expect them to already have, or be able to quickly develop, an in depth knowledge of the application of the UK’s fiscal regime relating to the oil & gas industry, both in regard to oil and gas extraction as well as the industry’s extensive supply chain.
