Industry Economist

OVERVIEW
As a member of the Corporate Marketing organization, perform and coordinate industry, economic, and market/customer research to support decision making. This will include research and analysis to optimize utilization of resources to identify growth opportunities and grow Esri's sales, brand, and market presence. In this role, you will collaborate closely with industry-focused leaders and team members and with product marketing and competitive intelligence teams within the Software Products Division.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead analytic efforts by conducting research, collecting data, and analyzing industry trends and drivers, economic issues/conditions, consumer demand, sales performance, and value chains (industry-specific research includes the financial services, health, education, energy, utilities, telecommunications, and federal and local government markets)
Interpret and forecast market trends and present research results and recommendations to senior leadership in reports, tables, and charts
Analyze data leveraging models, statistical techniques, and software
Develop and maintain a network of information sources, including internal teams, distributors, partners, customers, and industry experts
Prepare Requests for Proposals and Statements of Work for external industry research support
Work in conjunction with other intelligence, data, and analytic teams to optimize corporatewide research and analytical capabilities (Industry Strategy, Marketing, Business Development, and Product)

REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of combined experience in business, financial, and economic research and analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate detailed and complex information and ideas with written text and graphical representations
Ability to understand implications of new information for current and future problem solving and decision making
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with others; ability to work in a collaborative environment and share knowledge and experieces with others
Bachelor's in business, economics, engineering, computer science, or related tech field (MBA and/or CFA highly preferred)
