Professorship of Financial Economics

Following a generous donation from Bill and Weslie Janeway, the Faculty of Economics created the Janeway Professor of Financial Economics. The Faculty of Economics and Pembroke College now seeks to appoint a new Professor in the Faculty to support the reunion of the disciplines of economics and finance.

The Janeway Professor of Financial Economics is intended to bring together research in finance and economics. This initiative highlights the enormous interest in this theme arising out of the recent financial crises of 2007-2008. The appointee will have an internationally outstanding research profile in financial economics and a commitment to engaging across disciplines. S/he will be expected to provide inspirational leadership across the Faculty and to build and develop a research agenda in close collaboration with existing Faculty members. S/he will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

The successful appointee will be based in Cambridge, England. A competitive salary will be offered. Applications, consisting of a letter of application, a statement of current and future research plans, a curriculum vitae and a publications list.
