PROGRAM OFFICER, KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION
GROWTH AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN
2 Term positions until June, 2018 – Ottawa, Canada

Join our team of professionals to put your ideas and knowledge to work to help solve some of the developing world's most critical challenges. Although these are two term positions, we will consider candidates who wish to take a leave of absence or secondment to work at IDRC.

As Program Officer, you will be responsible for managing projects, research synthesis and accountability, supporting Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) to finalize a compelling body of evidence that can improve women's lives and livelihoods. More specifically, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of about 6 projects, valued at CAD 5-7 million, that together focus on access to better paid jobs, skills training for women, and valuing and recognizing women's challenging dual roles as caregivers and breadwinners.

As Knowledge Translation Program Officer, you will contribute to the articulation and profiling of the results of GrOW and your key task will be to translate knowledge to practice for policy makers and practitioners. You will support the development of compelling communications materials appropriate for a variety of external audiences, internationally and Canadian. You will also provide on-going feedback on communications and research uptake strategies to strengthen capacities of research teams. You will support the day-to-day program operations, including high-quality reporting within IDRC and to DFID, and the organization of outreach events.

Overview of Qualifications
• Master in a relevant social science discipline; or in communications with a demonstrated understanding of women's economic empowerment in a developing country context.
• Minimum of three years of relevant research experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge on current debates and issues relevant to research on women's economic empowerment, development economics, economic growth, gender.
• Bilingual positions requiring English and French language skills at an intermediate level.
