The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is looking for recent and forthcoming graduates to assist with the vital work of the Economic Research Department.

Position Description:
Research Associates make use of their undergraduate training and analytical skills in the areas of Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science to support academic research by staff economists, as well as high-level briefings on monetary policy and the economic outlook. Among others, tasks include quantitative research analyses using economic and financial data; infrastructure computer programming; preparation of supporting briefing and educational outreach materials; and financial and economic database management. The position is ideal for students considering further graduate work, particularly in economics and finance.

Requirements:
Superior academic record with at least a BA in Economics or Finance that includes a strong quantitative background (econometrics and statistics, advanced calculus, computer programming); or BA/BS in Math, Statistics or Computer Science with intermediate coursework in Economics or Finance. Excellent writing, and communication skills. Significant computer programming experience a plus. Previous work experience as a Research Assistant also a plus, but not necessary. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
