The JPMorgan Chase Institute seeks a Researcher within its Consumer Research vertical who will bring the best of quantitative social sciences and prior management experience to lead and conduct original research using proprietary big data within JPMorgan Chase. This individual will lead efforts to scope and execute new and existing research projects, manage a team of research professionals, and help build the Institute as an organization.

Job Responsibilities
• Work with the Consumer Research Director to project manage (develop, oversee, plan, implement, and refine) the Consumer Research agenda
• Identify and prioritize timely and impactful Institute research
• Conduct original data analyses using anonymized records from individuals and businesses within different lines of business; quickly synthesize key insights from analyses
• Plan, prioritize, and execute data asset building workstreams in service of future research projects, including scoping new data requests, reviewing data request requirements, and user testing to validate data
• Conduct market research and literature reviews to contextualize research within existing knowledge and benchmarks
• Lead efforts to strengthen the Institute as an organization, including developing and refining processes and identifying strategic partnerships
• Build and manage relationships within lines of businesses and internal partners to leverage product-specific and analytical expertise and manage data operations processes
• Build and manage relationships and partnerships with academics and other thought leaders to conduct academic research and provide input into Institute research
• Provide regular direction for both the team and individual team members, including the best sequence and allocation of work across workstreams
• Manage, coach, and mentor team of research analysts; create development opportunities for team members
• Represent and communicate Institute findings to internal and external audiences; prepare and lead executive-level presentations within the firm as well as to other research organizations and thought leaders

Candidate Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience managing and leading teams
• Project management experience within research teams
• Strong background in econometrics
• Prior experience working with big data (e.g., 1,000,000+ data points) and using R, Stata, Python, or SQL
• Demonstrated understanding of consumer finance
• Strong writing skills and ability to synthesize key messages for lay audiences
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills and ability to visualize data
• Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to work in a high-performance, professional environment, with quick turn- around times and changing priorities
• Ability to build relationships across an organization in order to achieve team objectives
• Strong time management skills and the ability to develop workplans, set and meet deadlines, and effectively prioritize and delegate work
• PhD or Master's degree required
• 5+ years of related job experience preferred
