Senior Economist / Senior Consultant

You are smart and you have the academic certificates to prove it. But so do many others.

What we need from you is more than certificates and transcripts. We need you to show us how you think and how you approach a problem. We need senior economists who can think through difficult problems which can seem daunting at first, and come up with solutions. The ideal candidate is business-oriented and client-focused, with a good understanding of project management and business development.
This is your chance to join one of Britain's busiest and most influential economics consultancies providing services to Government departments, multi-nationals and trade and professional organisations. They have a huge variety of work with 150 big name clients enabling you to use economics expertise directly to inform real large-scale business and policy decisions.
Come and join a friendly 20-strong team of academically strong client-facing consultants in a senior role within the microeconomics team.
Essential characteristics of the ideal candidate are:
• Sound academic background: Masters or 1st class degree in economics or a related subject
• At least three years of business experience – either as an in-house economist or working in another consultancy
• Knowledge of macroeconomics and microeconomics.
• An understanding of economic impact assessments and microeconomic modelling techniques including: input-output analysis, cost-benefit analysis and multiplier analysis.
• An ability to write easy-to-read reports for a business audience – native-level proficiency in English absolutely essential.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• An ability to think originally.
• In-depth experience of project management and at least some experience of people management.
