Identify, design, and undertake analytical work/technical assistance projects in the areas of social dimensions of development (poverty, human capital, and social protection), provision of social and economic infrastructure and conduct of impact evaluation. Contribute to Country Diagnostics Studies by undertaking the diagnostic analysis and drafting chapters in the areas of research expertise. Conduct collaborative research/activities and share knowledge with specialists and audience across disciplines, within as well as outside ADB. Support regional departments in conduct of economic analysis of country partnership strategies, policy based loans and investment projects in relevant fields. Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department's (ERCD's) research outputs and publications, and support relevant ADB operations. Work within general policies, principles and goals, working directly with clients.
a. Economic Research Work • Undertake research and implement technical assistance (TA) projects in the relevant fields • Contribute to Country Diagnostics Studies and provide analytical support in the areas of research expertise • Work independently and in research teams to produce high-quality knowledge products. • Support Management on the direction of ERCD's research work and activities in the above field.
b. Knowledge Management and Sharing • Conduct collaborative research/activities and share knowledge with specialists and audience across disciplines, within as well as outside ADB. • Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of ERCD's research outputs and publications • Participate in and contribute to relevant internal and external training and conferences and other activities for advocacy, dissemination and knowledge building.
c. Operations Support • Provide knowledge and technical support to operational departments particularly in areas of public policies, social and urban sectors • Support economic analysis of projects, particularly in the areas of social sector and urban infrastructure
d. Staff Supervision • Provide leadership and support to reporting staff • Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance • Ensure the on-going learning and development of reporting staff.

Doctorate degree, or equivalent, in Economics or related fields with specialization in development economics. Master's degree in Economics, combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Doctorate degree.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in the areas of economic development. • International experience working in several countries.
