Senior Economist

Reporting to the Global Chief Economist, the role encompasses a range of responsibilities:

• Authoring high-quality articles for internal and external audiences and aiding in the editing of the bank's suite of publications.
• Coordinating the bank's forecasting process, and generating economic scenarios for budgeting and stress testing.
• Developing, selecting, and managing models used in the economics function.
• Providing research support on topics of inquiry.
• Delivering internal and external briefings on economic conditions.
• Participating actively in relevant bank committees and processes.

The ideal candidate would have:
A minimum of 7 years as a business economist, with experience in financial services a strong plus
A graduate degree in economics, finance, or a related field
Very strong verbal and written communication skills
Significant experience with econometric techniques and economic data sources
Facility with Microsoft Office Suite, eViews, and SAS
Familiarity with macroeconomic modeling (work with the Oxford Global Economic Model a plus)
