Position Description

Cambridge Systematics is growing. We are looking to add a Senior Transportation Economist to our Economic Service Center. The Economic Service Center is a specialized unit designed to meet the growing demand for economics projects. The Service Center is investigates how best to develop and market economic analysis, data, and tools to public and private sector clients. This unit partners with other transportation leaders to develop and apply objective analytical methods to help inform transportation planning, policy and management decisions.

The Senior Transportation Economist collaborates with leadership to provide strategic economic expertise related to regional economics and economic development, transportation policy, financial analysis, and other related areas; potentially including asset management and climate change adaptation. S/he proactively identifies business development opportunities, partners with other CS staff to develop and pursue leads, conducts research and develops industry leading methods and tools and positions the Economic Service Center for success in the market. S/he also provides strong leadership in managing projects, providing ongoing feedback to project team members and is responsible for developing and mentoring junior staff.

Position Requirements

Masters degree in Economics required.

Experience with statistical analysis packages, regional economic databases, econometric and input/output models. Applied project experience conducting economic analyses within a consulting environment.
