General Purpose of the Sr. Load Forecast Analyst position

Provide load forecast support to management and client organizations. Critically review econometric model inputs and outputs, provide support for and verify the accuracy of the load forecast, and identify issues that could impact the forecast. Develop and implement new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external business needs.

The responsibilities of the Sr. Load Forecast Analyst position include the following:

Develop load forecasts using statistical and end-use modeling techniques.
Critically analyze interval load data for impacts of weather and changes in energy use practices on customer energy usage and overall customer demand for energy.
Interpret data, and specify econometric models.
Provide modeling and other analytical support to the unit's manager and internal clients.
Analyze and monitor sales data on a monthly basis for each jurisdiction and customer class.
Use internal and external data to interpret and explain differences between forecasted and actual energy demand.
Prepare and interpret reports business presentations and academic research on market and economic conditions.
Assist in the preparation of reports, testimony, and business presentations on the load forecast, highlighting the various drivers such as economic factors, weather, and energy efficiency programs.

General Purpose for the Load Forecast Specialist:

Provide load forecast support and recommendations to management and client organizations. Play a leadership role in the Load Forecasting and Research group. Critically review econometric model inputs and outputs, provide support for and verify the accuracy of the load forecast, and identify issues that could impact the forecast. Develop and implement new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external business needs.

The responsibilities of the Sr. Load Forecast Specialist position include the following:
Develop techniques to streamline the production of exhaustive variance analysis by month and year for each state, customer class and rate schedule.
Critically analyze and interpret load research data to be able to explain weather effects on customer usage and the overall forecasted impact.
Utilize outside sources of information to interpret and support forecasted results and actual load evaluations.
Collect and verify the accuracy of the data for new and existing demand, energy efficiency expectations, economic indices, and demand side management assumptions.
Interpret data, for purposes of formulating significant model inputs, as well as presenting the data in a meaningful way to management and key stakeholders.
Analyze and explain monthly variances from the forecast for each jurisdiction and customer class, that lead to improvements in the forecast going forward.
Identify new forecasting methods that lead to greater accuracy, efficiency and a more timely production of the forecast.
Prepare reports, testimony, and business presentations on the load forecast that explain the impact of economic factors, weather, and energy efficiency programs on energy demand.
Prepare responses to data requests in support of the load forecast.
