Job Description Summary

Supports the Chief Economist by performing analysis and research, preparation of publications and presentations, prepares reports and assists with economic research projects. Identifies and describes key economic trends impacting the Bank in all areas in which the Bank operates, and implications for future economic growth, economic policies, markets, and interest rates.

Essential Job Functions
Analyzes and reports data that helps to explain and forecast economic and financial trends. Develops tools/mathematical models for forecasting market trends using statistical techniques.
Makes recommendations on economic equations used in forecasting models and/or bank stress testing. May develop economic models or other economic equations used to identify issues affecting the Bank.
Informs Chief Economist of identified trends in the forecasting cycle.
Creates and prepares quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily economic publications
Identifies economic developments in the financial and/or banking industry and analyzes impact on Bank's business.
Strong knowledge in regional economies and assist in forecasting regional economic activity and help produce regional economic reports.
Partners with various business groups (i.e. internal business intelligence and data analytic teams within the team and across the groups) to collaborate on projects.
Deliver presentations on economic issues to internal and external audiences.

Required Experience
Requires mastery level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have deep knowledge of project management.

Education
Bachelor's Degree

Skills
Requires mastery level of knowledge of global, US, and regional economics
Knowledge and ability to apply complex economic theory and quantitative econometric techniques
Significant knowledge of economic databases & econometric software (i.e. Eviews)
Strong knowledge of Banking or Financial services
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong math, statistical, modeling skills a must
Excellent research and presentation skills a must
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
Thorough knowledge of internal business intelligence and data analytic teams within the team and across the groups.
