The Department of Economics invites applications for a faculty position to begin September 1, 2015. We welcome applicants from all fields but particularly encourage applicants with interests in: macroeconomics, financial economics, international economics, applied microeconomics (development, public, labor). Candidates should have completed their PhD by the time of appointment. Priority consideration will be given to assistant professor applicants, however senior applicants with an outstanding record of publication and substantial ongoing research will also be considered.

Beirut is a cosmopolitan and lively city with a large international community. The American University of Beirut is oldest western-style university in the Middle East, with an important role in the intellectual history of the Arab world. Benefits for faculty include regular research leave and home leave, travel to one international conference per year, free tuition for children at any of Beirut's private schools, a housing allowance, and research funding.
