MSFT Digital Store Analytics (DSA) Team has an opening for an outstanding data scientist interested in machine learning and AI.

The job will involve statistical analysis, cohort study, machine learning and predictive modeling by leveraging complex network of data sources. You are hands-on analyst in statistics / data science. On a daily basis, you will perform analysis on customer behavior data, conversion and campaign data to help business to identify pattern, drivers, and create predictive or LTV models. You are the go-to-person for statistical questions and web experimentation, and you will infuse statistical rigor into the analysis and reporting at a new scientific level. You will partner with business stakeholder and turn insights into actions.

The ideal candidate has working experience in statistics, data mining, machine learning and has a curious mind that is interested in identifying opportunities to solve problems and grow revenue. Primary Responsibilities

Perform data mining, statistical research, customer segmentation, profiling, and modeling to provide solutions to business needs and to support long-term digital marketing strategies

Research and evaluate large volume of data from disparate sources (e.g. online and offline data, survey data, behavior data, commerce data, etc.) to identify statistical patterns and form ideas for modeling.

Conduct machine Learning, data mining and statistics to build solutions with actionable insights from high-volume behavior data.

Build text analytics solutions by applying advanced ML techniques for entity extraction and topic clustering.

Define and measure success KPIs/metrics through applied data science that help improvements in conversion or customer satisfaction.

Provide data-focused analytics leadership and promote data-driven decision making


Basic Qualifications:

BS/MS in data science, economics, statistics, computer science or related discipline
2+ years of experience managing and leading data science projects
2+ years of experience working in machine learning of large volumes of data from disparate data sources


Preferred Qualifications:

Strong theory/algorithm background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced DS techniques to solve real problems.

Extensive knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis, controlled experimentation

Experience working on Big Data and ML technologies - Cosmos, TLC, Azure ML, Cortana Analytics, R, Python, SQL, SAS

Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to explain complex data in easy to understand stories/visualization to management and large groups

Self-starter who can work autonomously and across teams

Critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Kaggle experience preferred
