Within ESD, our Labor Market and Economic Analysis team provides businesses and customers with the labor market information they need to succeed in a changing economy. As The Labor Market and Economic Analysis Branch of ESD supports the agency mission and the employment process by providing businesses, individuals and other customers with the labor market information they need to succeed in a changing economy.

Our Econometric Evaluations Supervisor position contributes to the achievement of the organization's mission by performing scientific research and comprehensive evaluations of LMEA process and econometric models used for conducting industry and occupational employment projections, identifying types of labor demands, and data sources to estimate the supply and demand of state and local labor markets.

This is a non-permanent position with an expected end date of 6/30/2021.

As an Econometric Evaluations Supervisor you will direct evaluations to identify problems faced by current processes, survey modeling and analyses due to unexpected changes in economic cycles, such as those created by federal policies and the disruption of economies and labor markets due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Using statistical software programming languages (for example, Python and R), mathematical models, descriptive and advanced inferential statistical techniques, and economics theory, you will analyze data and interpret results to produce estimates or projections or identify economic or employment trends.
