Purpose of Role

The Economic Analyst plays a central role within the Growth Analytics Team, Government and Infrastructure Advisory (GIA) department within Grant Thornton UK LLP. The post holder will work as part of the Growth Analytics team, effectively providing a hands service that meets or exceeds client expectations and supports the Growth Analytics team and Growth Observatory proposition to our major growth programmes and clients.

Main Responsibilities

• To develop a strong awareness of the market opportunity and strategy for the Growth Analytics team, particularly in respect of the major growth programmes that Grant Thornton delivers on behalf of government
• You will understand the stakeholder environment for our analytics and research services into economic growth, including local authorities, BIS, Universities, business organisations and federations
• Provide support for the delivery of major consulting engagements to the central, regional and local government markets undertaking the baseline data review, assemble analysis, supporting the consultation process and developing the report content

Experience/Education/Qualifications required:

• Accomplished at report writing, with excellent presentation skills
• You will bring an analytical and problem solving mind-set to tasks
• Ability to present (written and oral) complex data and analysis in a way that is easy to understand and digest
• Experience of taking ownership and driving forward projects and work streams
• Excellent communication skills and able to manage relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience of working with or in central/regional/local government
