Economic Capital Analyst

Role Summary/Purpose
The analyst will be expected to use their quantitative analytic and modeling skills to support the Economic Capital team. This will include compiling data and generate reports related to key capital metrics and processes. The analyst will be expected to master existing processes, challenge them and strive to continuously improve them, while expanding their own knowledge and understanding of capital planning and its critical role for GECC.

Essential Responsibilities
• Support the transition to Risk Frontier and other advanced ecap models
• Support the development on advanced portfolio risk return optimization framework
• Provide analytical support on other key capital area and develop a thorough understanding of GE Capital's Capital Planning process
• Work with businesses and other Risk functions to improve the control framework supporting the accuracy of the underlying data used to determine economic capital charges
• Analyze financial statement data and assess business, industry and transaction risks
• Prepare reports for incorporation in the capital planning processes and for presentation to International SLT, ALCO or ERMC.
• Assist with pitches and presentations as needed
• Working cross functionally with Risk, Finance and P&L teams

Qualifications/Requirements
• Fluent English
• Risk management experience
• Previous knowledge of Economic Capital models and methodology or Risk Frontier an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Risk Management
• Academic excellence with financial or quantitative interest/competency
• Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of the broader team
• Able to coordinate efforts/projects across different platforms, good project management skills required
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Sharp business acumen; critical thinking skills
• Strong intellectual & analytical skills
• Global mind-set & forward thinking
• Flexible, adaptable & geographically mobile between European countries
• Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
