Description

Job Purpose:
• Economic forecasts and analysis for euro area, with particular focus on Germany (and probably some further countries).
• Client interaction probably of around 150-200 client "events" per year (conference call, meeting, conference etc.)
• Briefing sales, traders on economic themes and prospects.

Job Background/Context:
Citi Research focuses on delivering high quality investment insights to clients on a global basis. The unit includes Equity and Fixed Income research as well as Economic analysis; and has staff in 25 locations around the world. Citi Research is committed to maintaining the highest level of independence and objectivity in its proprietary products and insights

Key Responsibilities:
• Produce and present economic forecasts or Germany and some other individual euro area countries.
• Contribute to euro area macro forecast.
• Discuss economic outlook with clients
• Written pieces on economic outlook, data, news and analytical issues.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:
• Strong economics background, typically masters or PHD level.
• Experience in forecasting German and euro area economy.
Skills:
• Strong technical skills
• Econometrics
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team player, ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment
• Appreciation of legal and regulatory environment

Qualifications:
• Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
