Boston - United States
S: Competitive

HDR is an architectural, engineering and consulting firm that excels at complex projects and solving challenges for clients. More than 9,000 professionals, including architects, engineers, consultants, scientists, planners and construction managers, in over 200 locations worldwide, pool their solutions beyond the scope of traditional A/E/C firms.

The primary duty of the Economist is to conduct research and analysis that aids in the interpretation and development of solutions to problems with economic relationships. This involves collecting and analyzing economic and demographic data from a variety of sources. As needed, the Economist may collect additional data and information through face-to-face and telephone interviews, as well as surveys. This information, combined with economic theory, is then used to develop analytical models for use in prioritizing projects, measuring the public benefits and costs generated by a particular project, identifying the jobs generation and development opportunities, among other client goals and objectives. The Economist interprets model output and helps other economic staff in developing final reports and documentation for our clients. The Economist works independently on small projects or assists more senior economists on larger projects.
