Job Description
Conduct research to understand variables impacting fiscal and monetary policies of African economies and how these relate to the expected performance of African equity markets. Analyze data to explain economic events and forecast market trends including the analysis of production and consumption trends for African economies along with key fiscal and monetary variables. Forecast the income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statement for African companies and be able to estimate their intrinsic value and maintain an up to date data base. Travel 15-20% internationally throughout Africa to meet with local policy makers and business leaders to assist in both micro-economic and macro-economic forecasts. Write research reports to disseminate findings and both micro and macroeconomic expectations. Decipher public policies and regulatory changes impacting local economies. Analyze variables influencing local equity markets and bond markets and determine impact on the local banking systems and their influence on the overall economy. Utilize Bloomberg and Zawya to extract data for analysis on African economies and markets.

Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, International Business, or Business Administration. Must have five years of research experience in Frontier Markets, with an emphasis on Africa. The five years of experience must include experience with financial analysis; micro- and macro-economic drivers; Frontier market equities; Frontier market economies; analyzing equity investments; analyzing economies; Bloomberg; Zawya; and estimating the intrinsic value of public listed equities by forecasting income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Must travel 15-20% of the time throughout Africa.
