We are looking for an economist to join the London-based research team at Absolute Strategy Research, Europe's number one-ranked independent research company.

Role responsibilities

You will be responsible for researching global economic developments, generating conclusions that challenge the consensus and communicating those to ASR's clients and sales team. You will help to develop ASR's proprietary economic models and indicators. And, as part of the four-person economics team, you will be responsible for building relationships with ASR's clients and providing them with expert advice and support.

Person specification

You should ideally have about 5 years of experience working as a professional macroeconomist, with a strong first degree in economics and preferably a post-graduate qualification. You should be comfortable interpreting and analysing macroeconomic data; a prior knowledge of the Asian economy would be an advantage, but is not a necessary requirement. You should also have excellent writing and presentation skills, and an ability to communicate clearly with a non-economist audience. You should be a proficient econometrician, preferably with experience of working in EViews. Above all else, you should be thoughtful, curious, enthusiastic and open to new ideas.
