Corporate Banking & Securities consists of Deutsche Bank's Markets and Corporate Finance divisions and serves the world's leading Corporates, Governments and Institutions. Corporate Finance is responsible for mergers and acquisitions, including advisory, debt and equity issuance, and capital markets coverage of large and medium-sized corporations. Regional and industry-focused teams ensure the delivery of the entire range of financial products and services. Markets combines the sales, trading and structuring of a wide range of financial market products, including bonds, equities and equity-linked products, exchange-traded and over-the-counter derivatives, foreign exchange, money market instruments, securitized instruments and commodities.

Overview:

The Euro-Area Economics Team based in London focuses primarily on France. This is a small, flexible team regularly top ranked in industry surveys. You would also work with our fixed income, equity and foreign exchange strategists. The London-based team is part of the broader global macro and research effort and contributes regularly to Deutsche Bank's flagship research publications.

Key responsibilities:

Act as the lead Economist for France and provide inputs to Euro-Area Economics in general.
Work the team to further develop the macroeconomic toolkit.
Work with others on broader cross-country and cross-team research.
Contribute to the day-to-day running of the team.
Engage proactively with clients both externally and internally.

You will have:

A post-graduate degree in quantitative and Economics disciplines; undergraduate with strong work-experience also considered.
Advanced econometrics and analytical skills.
Previous experience as a macroeconomist, ideally within the French public sector (e.g. Treasury, Central Bank, etc). Alternatively, experience from private side financial services industry, in London or Paris will also be an advantage.
Programming skills (desirable).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

You will be:

Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the French economy.
Able to present complex analysis in a simple and appealing way.
Strongly driven to achieve in a highly competitive field.
Open and receptive to the views of others.
A strong team player able to work with others.
The role will be based in London and involve regular travel to Paris.
