Goldman Sachs seeks an economist to join its US Economic Research group in New York. The group has won numerous forecasting accolades, including the 2009 and 2011 Lawrence R. Klein Award for the most accurate US economic forecast among all 50+ participants in the Blue Chip Economic Indicators survey over the prior four years.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
• Generate unique, thematic written research on the US economic and financial outlook
• Develop quantitative models to forecast US economic growth, inflation, and interest rates
• Interpret and comment on high-frequency economic data releases
• Present economic views to external and internal clients

Basic Qualifications
• Ph.D. in economics OR
• Master's in economics with extensive experience in US macroeconomic research and forecasting
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a close-knit team
• A proven capability for original and thought-provoking research
• Familiarity with US macroeconomic data is an advantage
