Gore Medical Products has provided creative therapeutic solutions to complex medical problems for 35 years, saving and improving the quality of lives worldwide. As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Health Economist to join our Health Economics team in Phoenix, AZ.

The ideal candidate will:
• Be passionate about providing credible and valid healthcare economic analysis for products that are the highest quality in their class

Responsibilities include:
• Developing and delivering health economic analyses (in collaboration with the Health Economics/Reimbursement team)
• Designing and conducting health economic studies for the Gore portfolio of Medical Products
• Developing health economic models, user interfaces, and support materials for use by the businesses in the sale and marketing of Gore's medical products
• Working with Product Specialist and Clinical Affairs associates to ensure that clinical protocols contain the appropriate data required to measure the economic value of products
• Utilizing and analyzing data from a range of sources (e.g. clinical studies, observational databases, published evidence) to generate and quantify value messages
• Producing specific quality of life information on existing and future products when applicable
• Generating meaningful and valid statistical models as required for relevant patient outcomes measures from an evidence-based medicine perspective (e.g. comparative effectiveness research and cost effectiveness analysis)
• Developing and supporting the use of value messages by sales teams:
• Assisting with training in the use of value messages, and developing support materials for the Gore sales teams
• Assisting and supporting the sales teams in their dealings with key customer accounts, presenting information to customers when required
• Monitoring competitor activities which focus on the economic value of their products
• As a member of the Health Economics team, developing value messages to both internal and external customers in a format which influences decision making:
• Understanding what constitutes value to Gore's customers and communicating value messages in formats which are understandable and which aid decision-making
• Assisting with preparation of cost-effectiveness/wider implications sections of submissions to national payer and assessment organizations (CMS, NICE)
• Publishing health economic analyses as abstracts or manuscripts when applicable

Required Job Qualifications:
• Undergraduate's degree from an accredited university in any of the following disciplines: business, engineering, science (preference given to candidates with a graduate's degree in economics, health economics, health services research, outcomes research, biostatistics, bioinformatics or similar discipline).
• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Basic understanding of the changes taking place in the U.S. healthcare market
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both virtual and on-site
• Strong service mentality and desire to help others succeed
• Desire and ability to teach others about the field of Health Economics and statistical analysis
• Position based in Phoenix, Arizona with potential to work remotely

Ability to:
• Think independently and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Travel approximately 10-20%

Desired Job Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree from an accredited university in economics, health economics, health services research, outcomes research, biostatistics, bioinformatics, or a related discipline
• Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
• Experience with statistical software (e.g. STATA, SAS)
