The Department of History at the University of Sussex enjoys an international reputation for the strength of its research in social and economic history. We now wish to make a fixed-term (3-year) appointment in the field of Economic History. Applications from candidates working in the economic history of modern Britain are particularly welcomed.

We seek an ambitious individual, with a high quality research profile in an area that complements our existing strengths. Relevant teaching experience and of contributing to grant capture activities would also be advantageous.

The successful applicant will join a thriving, collegial department with a commitment to interdisciplinary study and a student community which is both well-qualified and intellectually ambitious. Good communication skills, and an ability to work productively as part of a friendly team-oriented department are essential for this position.
