The University of Exeter Business School (UEBS) is an interdisciplinary business school dedicated to excellence in research and teaching across the management and economic disciplines. The Department of Economics engages in research across a broad range of economics subject areas as well as teaching innovative and successful undergraduate and post-graduate programmes.

We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Economics to deliver teaching (not research) and scholarship duties including the following: Module leadership, design of course material and assessment, lecture and tutorial delivery, dissertation supervision and marking. The successful candidate will be a committed educator that engages and inspires students.

The subject areas we seek specific expertise in are Maths and Statistics for Economics and Business, Macroeconomics and Finance.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

-Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (Lecturer - optional or nearing completion, Senior Lecturer - essential) or equivalent in a relevant subject area to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;

-Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;

-Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;

-Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.

In addition, for Senior Lecturer post you will:

-Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.

-Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
