1. To monitor and analyze the performance and strategies of the major gas companies in the medium to long term;
2. To monitor and analyze the corporate structure of the international petroleum industry, ensuring that the Secretariat is aware of significant changes in ownership or control and of the main activities and operations of major corporations, including National Gas Companies, in Member Countries;
3. To monitor and analyze the financial activities of major corporations, including investments, their sales revenues, profitability, capital structures and financial practices;
4. To monitor and analyze developments with a significant impact on the profitability of corporations or activities and projects, including in particular tax systems and related accounting practices;
5. To carry out the studies in his area of competence on various aspects of the international energy industry;
6. To carry out any other tasks assigned to him by his relevant superiors as pertain to his background, qualification and position.
