Research Analyst: International Center on Housing Risk

The International Center on Housing Risk at the American Enterprise Institute (www.housingrisk.org) conducts cutting-edge research and publishes an unprecedented set of risk metrics to improve the operation of housing markets, mortgage lending practices, and housing policy. We are seeking a research analyst to work directly for the Center's two codirectors on the full range of the Center's initiatives.

The primary responsibilities for this position include producing the data series and presentation materials for the Center's regular data releases and conference calls; managing the Center's extensive data resources; writing blog posts and longer pieces on relevant policy topics; and carrying out empirical work to support longer-term research projects. The research analyst will have an opportunity to coauthor papers with the Center's codirectors and visiting scholars for publication in academic journals.

Candidates for the position must have a Master's Degree in economics, finance, real estate, or public policy and possess strong quantitative, communication, and organizational skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential. Relevant job experience is highly desired; an ideal candidate for the position would have a minimum of three years' experience analyzing U.S. mortgage and housing markets with the use of large loan-level and property-level datasets. This is a full-time appointment with competitive compensation.
