The Labor Market and Economic Analysis team supports the agency mission and the employment process by providing businesses, individuals and other customers with the labor market information they need to succeed in a changing economy. Our team is looking for a non-permanent Research Economist to conduct comprehensive evaluation and quantitative analysis of the policies and programs implemented in response to Covid-19. As a Research Economist, you will have the discretion and freedom to choose the methods of your research with little supervision. We won't micromanage your work. Our weekly meetings will consist of sharing ideas, learning from one another, valuable collaboration and teamwork.

In this role, you will be responsible to gather, input, prepare and clean raw data to use in the evaluations of processes and methods as well as peer review ongoing impact evaluations or related econometric projects. Using statistical software programming languages (for example R), mathematical models, descriptive and advanced inferential statistical techniques, and economic theory, principles, and techniques, you will analyze data and interpret results to produce estimates or projections or identify economic or employment trends.
