NBIM is seeking a dedicated and results oriented professional for the position of Researcher, part of Investment Policy group within Allocation Strategies. Allocation Strategies develops the Fund's strategic asset allocation, manages the overall exposure towards main return drivers, selects external asset managers and runs the Norwegian Finance Initiative. The area employs dedicated portfolio managers, investment analysts, economists and researchers. Investment Policy is responsible for providing medium and long term advice on risk and asset allocation decisions.

The position is located in London and will report to the Head of Investment Policy. Some travel will be required.

Main Responsibilities:

Conducting research and analysis on medium to long-term risk and asset allocation in a portfolio context
Providing advice informing allocation decisions on a large long-term portfolio
Contributing to the research based development of investment strategy
Contributing to the formulation of strategic advice to asset owners

Main Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have the following background / skills

Strong academic credentials. Preferably a PhD degree in Economics, Financial Economics or Finance
Relevant experience from an investment management, consulting or banking organisation is an advantage
A keen interest in financial markets, strong quantitative skills and ability to run independent analytical processes
Proactive and self-driven work style and a good team player
Ambition to excel
High level of integrity
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with strong proficiency in written and spoken English
