The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, D.C., seeks a senior economist. The senior economist maintains databases, prepares analyses for internal use and the website, as well as participates in forecasting, research and analysis of the housing industry and related issues. The position also includes support to the Chief Economist.

A minimum of five years' experience working in private, non-profit or government sectors is required, with emphasis on empirical economics and data analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with strong technical skills: spreadsheets, econometric software (e.g., EViews) and basic programming (e.g., SAS, SPSS, etc.) experience. Candidates should have good written and oral communication skills. Experience with U.S. regional and housing industry data is a plus. Advanced degree in economics or related field required, PhD preferred.
