The School is seeking an enthusiastic lecturer/senior lecturer with an interest in interdisciplinary research and a pluralist methodological focus, to contribute to the discipline of economics. The successful candidate will also have a strong record of teaching excellence will help build the research portfolio of the discipline through their individual research efforts and through the supervision of RHD students. All applicants must be PhD qualified and be able to demonstrate a history of producing excellent research outcomes through publication. The successful applicant will have demonstrated expertise in experimental and behavioural economics and be interested in coordinating the new School Decision Making Lab.

The position will be offered on a continuing full-time basis at Callaghan campus.

Selection/Essential Criteria:

• A PhD in Economics with demonstrated expertise in experimental economics and/or behavioural economics
• Capacity to coordinate the NBS Decision Making Laboratory
• Demonstrated capacity to undertake and publish quality research, particularly of an interdisciplinary nature
• Proven ability to deliver high quality teaching and effective course administration
• Excellent interpersonal skills ensuring effective communication with staff and students
• Proven ability to secure external research funding
• Proven capacity to supervise honours and postgraduate students
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Experience with the development and delivery of curriculum and course materials for a variety of teaching modes
• Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to, and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote, support and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace; including responding appropriately to adverse accidents, incidents, behaviours, issues, reports and the like.
