We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the Institute's growing health economist research group.
You will work with health economists of all levels on work related to commissioning and priority setting within the NHS and public health, economics evaluation or preference elicitation. Applications are particularly sought from researchers with an interest in commissioning and priority setting methods and application.

You will hold a PhD in health economics or a closely related subject. For appointment at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer you will have considerable experience of research in at least one aspect of health systems, commissioning and priority setting, economic evaluation or preference elicitation. For appointment as a Newcastle University Research Fellow you will have a previous postdoctoral post or research experience.
You will have the ability to communicate complex information with clarity, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will also have the ability to lead and inspire less experienced researchers and prioritise key tasks.

The Institute is building capacity in this area and welcomes applications from candidates at any stage of their academic career. Appointments are available at either the Senior Lecturer level for established academics with an excellent track record and future career plan, or for those earlier in their career an appointment as a Newcastle University Research Fellow. Candidates who already meet the expectations outlined for the fellowship will be considered for appointment at Lectureship level on an open ended basis.
