Senior Quantitative Researcher, Investment Management

DCI is seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher to work on strategy development and risk modeling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic finance and will be well acquainted with equity and/or fixed income/credit literature. He/she will also have experience working on large datasets with statistical tools such as SAS or R, and will be familiar with the content of commercial databases such as COMPUSTAT, CRSP, EJV, etc. Some knowledge of SQL databases and programming would also be additive but is not required.

The successful candidate will be highly productive in generating actionable results and innovative strategies. Strong communication skills are necessary as he/she will work with the technology and trading teams to implement end-to-end research developments. This individual will have the personality that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment without the formal structure and hierarchy of a large organization.

Experience:
• Extensive background in academic finance and research with some experience in investment management preferred, but not required.
• Strong business instincts; someone who has deep knowledge of academic finance but who also understands the practical aspects of how markets work.
• A proven ability to think strategically and creatively; the ability to translate ideas and insights into real world strategies.
• Collaborative, team oriented individual; able to manage end-to-end implementation of research developments, working closely with technology and trading teams.
• Excellent communication skills; someone who can interact effectively at a high level with both internal and external constituents.
• Knowledge of analytic systems and programming.
• Knowledge and experience of portfolio and risk management processes and operations.
• Philosophically attuned to DCI's systematic orientation (i.e. broad scale, procedural exploitation of idiosyncratic valuation differences in a highly risk controlled framework)

Education:
• Strong academic experience and professional credentials.
• PhD in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
