Statistical Programmer Predictive Analytics

Position Summary:

In this exciting new role on our Analytic Development Team, you will support development of internal predictive modeling capability by collaborating with analytic, research and business partners from across the enterprise to design, develop and implement robust data handling solutions as well as agile data acquisition and manipulation solutions to enable efficient development and operational prototyping of data driven programs and services. You will also be involved with the following:
• Work with key internal and external stakeholders to gather and translate business needs into data access and layout specifications, design data handling routines in SQL and SAS to generate data according to specifications, and conduct descriptive analysis of the resulting data, delivering results to analytic and business audiences.
• Access data, construct and manipulate large datasets to support planned analyses, using SQL, and where appropriate SAS, and similar tools.
• Conduct analyses of the data including descriptive reports and univariate statistical analyses, collaborate with analytic staff to conduct regression modeling and other advanced statistical analyses.
• Construct and deliver written reports of the analytic findings in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, including static and dynamic visualization of data and findings), formulate recommendations, and effectively present the results to with non-analytic audiences.
• Tailor the analytic and data solution to the specific client need and constraints of delivery timelines.
• Apply creativity in developing analytic solutions based on available data sources, and in representing analytic findings in reports, tools, and other media to support most effective translation and application of internal and external customers.
• Manage complex projects related to a wide variety of financial, utilization, and clinical business needs.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates that are ready to advance their career to the next level in this exciting role will have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the following areas: • Constructing analytic solutions to business problems; developing innovative analytic approaches leveraging all data sources; retrieving data from large databases with SQL and processing large volumes of pharmacy and/or medical claims and conducting data analysis. • Strong experience working with the advanced features of MS Excel and VBA or similar tools. • Experience developing interactive dashboards in Excel or similar tools. • Exposure to statistical program with SAS. • Experience in predictive modeling techniques and processes, such as understanding of risk identification and stratification methods for clinical and pharmacy care outcomes; understanding of techniques for constructing, validating, and maintaining predictive models in healthcare settings; exposure to developing and applying forecasting methods and models.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building data visualization solutions, such as Tableau or similar tools. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to interact with and influence decision-making by non-analytical business audiences. • Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver in the fast-paced evolving environment.

Education:

Bachelor degree in a discipline relevant to application of data and statistical analysis in a health-care setting (e.g. Health Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business or related quantitative field). Advanced degree preferred. (Educational background may serve as a substitute for part or all of the length of relevant employment requirement).
